About CTG Education

CTG provides a global platform for the provision of
progressive, cutting-edge & credible nutrition and nutrigenomics education.

Health care professionals are overwhelmed with unmanageable amounts of nutrition information emanating from the media, self-professed experts and countless journal articles, books and conferences. Nutrition confusion abounds. CTG Education provides teaching and training in key areas of genetics, nutrition and food. Health care practitioners can learn from appropriately qualified experts teaching at a post-graduate level, without having to enrol in an university program.

What we do

CTG Education comprises a dedicated team of international nutrition academics and dietitians headed up by Dr Yael Joffe and Dr Christine Houghton.  Together they have expertise and experience in:

Human Genetics

Human genetics is the study of the inheritance of characteristics by children from parents. Genetics can answer questions about human nature, understand the development of diseases, and aid in effective disease treatments and interventions.

Molecular Biology

The branch of biology that deals with the nature of biological phenomena at the molecular level through the study of DNA and RNA, proteins, and other macromolecules involved in genetic information and cell function.ions.

Nutritional Genomics

Nutritional genomics studies the relationship between the human genome, nutrition, the environment, and health. It defines how genetic variation impacts nutrition requirements, and describes how nutrients can be used to alter gene expression and behaviour.

The knowledge concerned with the diet and its effects on health, especially with the practical application of a scientific understanding of nutrition.

Functional Medicine

Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-orientated approach, engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership.

Nutritional Biochemistry

The knowledge regarding the biological basis of nutrition and the mechanisms by which diet can influence health.  This includes a basic understanding of metabolism, physiology and molecular genetics.

Food Systems

A sustainable community food system is a collaborative network that integrates sustainable food production, processing, distribution, consumption and waste management in order to enhance the environmental, economic and social health of a particular place.

Culinary is defined as ‘of or relating to a kitchen or to cookery’. Culinary allows for the translation of nutrition, biochemistry and molecular biology onto the plate.

Our Team

Despite living on different continents, we have been able to bring together our unique expertise and experience to build this course. By joining together our knowledge we have been able to build not only a solid biochemical and molecular foundation, but we are also able to provide what is often the missing link, the practical application and clinical implementation of nutritional genomics.
